How to eliminate facial veins using laser technology

Facial veins are often embarrassing and can mar your complexion, since they are not easy to cover up. However doctors now know to eliminate facial veins successfully. Within the last few years laser technology has made it possible to remove facial veins efficiently, and get the skin looking clear and uniform once again.

Spider Veins
Spider veins are actually small blood vessels that look a lot like a complex spider web. They are a lot smaller than varicose veins, and appear close to the surface of the skin. Spider veins may be inherited, but they can also be due to age, sun damage, or hormones. They are typically red, blue, or purple in color, and can show up on different parts of the face and body. Facial spider veins normally appear on the cheeks, nose, and chin.

Treatment
Lasers are now widely used for the treatment of spider veins. The light emitted by the lasers targets and destroys the spider veins, without disturbing the surrounding skin. After treatment there may be some swelling and redness, but this usually resolves in a few hours.

At the Sona Med Spa in Little Rock and Memphis, they utilize the Harmony ND: Yaglaser for the treatment of spider veins. The Harmony laser has a long-pulsed 1064nm handpiece that emits a single beam of high energy laser light. The blood vessels absorb the light energy, which heats up the vessel wall, causing it to collapse and eventually dissolve.  Laser treatment for spider veins is safe and virtually painless.

It typically takes a series of 2 to 4 treatments to eliminate facial veins. Most patients are happy with the results of their laser treatment, and experience a sense of confidence, becausethey no longer have to worry about facial veins.
