Undereye bags can make you look tired all the time, and are often due to the effects of aging. The changes that take place around the structures of the eyes as we age, often give rise to these unflattering bags. If you’re like most people, you’re looking for a magical injection like botox that can fix the eye area without surgery. But does botox help reduce undereye bags?
How Botox works
Botox relaxes muscles, which is the reason it is such a good solution for folds and wrinkles that form as a result of repeated muscle movement. As the muscles beneath the skin relax, the lines and folds soften over time. Botox can be used on horizontal forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet, which are the lines at the outer corner of the eyes.
Can Botox Help Undereye Bags?
Undereye bags are an entirely different problem. They are usually the result of eyelid fat bulging against the skin of the eyelids. This feature is often hereditary, but undereye bags may also be due to aging, or the consumption of too much sodium. Unfortunately, botox is not recommended for the treatment of undereye bags.
However, there are soft tissue fillers that are an excellent option to naturally improve lower eyelid bags. Fillers can disguise the problem, as they are able to level the area where the eyelid and cheek merges. This improves the cheek contours, as well as the appearance of entire area under the lower eyelids.
