Atlanta Vampire Facelift can smooth the effects of aging

There are a variety of skin rejuvenation treatments that can reverse the signs of aging, and the vampire facelift is one of the latest and most unique. In Atlanta, and other US cities, the Vampire Facelift is fast gaining popularity. However, despite the scary sounding name, it is a simple procedure that harvests cells from the patient’s own blood to eliminate the effects of aging, such as fine lines and loss of volume.

What is the Vampire Facelift?

The Vampire Facelift is also referred to as the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, because it involves the use of platelets to improve the appearance of the skin. It is a non-surgical procedure in which risks are minimized. The use of the patient’s own platelets significantly reduces the chances of rejection, or of an allergic reaction (learn more).

How it works

A small sample of blood is extracted from the patient, from which the platelets are isolated by being spun in a centrifuge.  The platelets are then re-injected with a very small needle or applied with a derma-roller. After application, the platelets are left to soak in.

When PRP is activated, growth factors are released which work to regenerate the skin cells, and remodel collagen. The growth factors stimulate the surrounding cells, and this is what plumps up the skin, and smooths fine lines and wrinkles.

The session lasts for about 40 minutes, and it typically takes 3 sessions to achieve optimal results. After treatment patients can expect their face to be fresher and plumper, and there will also be fewer wrinkles. The effects can last up to 18 months.
