Botox Vs Fillers for Minor Forehead Wrinkles? Which is Better?

The face often gets wrinkles, and becomes rough and dry as you age, but you can look youthful again with options such as botox and fillers. Forehead wrinkles in     the upper half of the face are a problem for many people, but they are often unsure about which treatment is most appropriate for them. So let’s consider the question – botox vs fillers for minor forehead wrinkles – which is better.

Forehead Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process, but they are not all the same. Forehead wrinkles are known as dynamic wrinkles, because they form as a result of the continuous motion of the muscles.

Habitual expressions such as frowning cause the muscles to contract. This isn’t a problem when you are younger, as the skin can easily bounce back into shape. However, the effects of age and the environment makes the skin less resilient over time, therefore the dynamic wrinkles become permanent.

Botox vs Fillers for Minor Forehead Wrinkles

Botox (botilinum toxin) works by blocking the transmission of normal signals from the nerves to the muscles, which interferes with the muscles ability to contract. With time the wrinkles soften and disappear.

Fillers are also an excellent way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but they are generally not recommended for forehead lines. Fillers are typically used to treat static wrinkles which are often due to fat loss, gravity, or declining elasticity.  This includes lines on the cheeks and at the corners of the mouth.
