Brow lift vs. facelift

Would you like to address signs of facial aging such as wrinkles, skin laxity, crow’s feet, or droopy brows?  A brow lift and facelift can both rejuvenate the face and give it a fresher more youthful appearance.  But how does a brow lift compare to a facelift.

Brow lift vs. facelift

A brow lift and facelift are both facial rejuvenation procedures, but they target different areas of the face.

Difference between a brow lift and a facelift

Contrary to what many people believe, a facelift does not rejuvenate the entire face, it focuses on the lower third of the face.  A facelift corrects sagging in the midface, jowls, and wrinkles and folds around the mouth.  The results of a facelift last about 10 years. A facelift does not address the brows or the area above the cheekbones.

On the other hand, a brow lift corrects droopy brows and rejuvenates the forehead area.  It improves frown lines between the eyes as well as forehead wrinkles, and also provides a subtle lift for sagging upper eyelids caused by a droopy brow.  A brow lift gives the eyes a more alert appearance, and makes the entire face look rested.  The results of a brow lift typically last 5-10 years.

Do I need a brow lift or a face lift?

Whether you need a brow lift or a face lift will depend on your specific concerns.  There are times when both procedures may be necessary to achieve the desired results.
