How Does A Vampire Facial Work?

Are you looking to revitalize your appearance? A vampire facial may be the answer for you.   Although the name sounds a little creepy, the vampire facelift is actually a simple, minimally invasive treatment that can boost the health and beauty of your skin.  But how does a vampire facial work.

What is a vampire facial?

A vampire facial is a cosmetic treatment that rejuvenates the skin using a combination of microneedling, and platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) therapy.  The platelets in PRP contain a high concentration of growth factors that stimulate cell turnover, and promote skin health.

How does a vampire facial work?

In order to prepare the PRP serum, the doctor takes a small sample of blood from the patient’s arm, which is then put in a centrifuge.  The blood is spun at high speed to extract the platelets from the rest of the blood.

Microneedling is then performed, during which tiny needles are used to create microscopic punctures in the skin.  This is followed by the application of the PRP serum to the face.

Microneedling and PRP work together to tighten the skin, and stimulate the production of collagen.  Increasing collagen boosts the strength and elasticity of the skin, as it reinforces the underlying structure.  Collagen also makes the skin smoother, so fine lines, wrinkles and scars become less visible.  It also enhances volume in the skin, so the face appears plumper and more youthful.

The vampire facial activates the skin’s natural healing, so it rejuvenates the skin over time.
