What is a Non-Surgical Facelift and Does it Really Work?

More men and women are choosing to turn back the clock and restore their youthful face, with a non-surgical facelift. But what is a non-surgical facelift, and does it really work? Is it really possible to fight the aging process without undergoing surgery? Let’s take a look.

What is a non-surgical facelift?

In recent times a non-surgical or liquid facelift has become a popular alternative for people who want to look younger, but don’t want to have surgery.  The liquid facelift typically involves the use of a variety of injectables including Botox and dermal fillers, to contour facial features, and restore volume to the face.

Botox is particularly effective in smoothing dynamic expression lines, which form as a result of squinting, smiling, or frowning.  These can be clearly seen across the forehead and around the eyes. Botox is injected into the muscles, and blocks the normal transmission that takes place between the nerves and the muscles. This causes the muscles to relax, resulting in a less stressed appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are also used to soften wrinkles, as well as to replenish lost volume. Juvederm Voluma is a hyaluronic filler that is used primarily to volumize the cheeks. Other fillers like Radiesse, are better suited for filling wrinkles and fine lines.

At the Fountain of Youth Medical Spa in Victoria, Texas, they also offer a non-surgical chin augmentation as well as a non-surgical nose job, using fillers.

The effects of the liquid facelift can last up to 2 years, depending on the injectables used.  The results are subtle, yet effective. Most people experience a noticeable lifting of the face, which makes it fuller and more youthful.
