What Happens During a Liquid Facelift?

If you’re ready to fight back against sagging skin and wrinkles but don’t want to undergo surgery, a liquid facelift is a great alternative.  A liquid facelift is a non-surgical procedure that can make you look younger and refreshed.  But what happens during a liquid facelift?

What Is A Liquid Facelift?

A liquid facelift is a minimally invasive procedure in which a combination of cosmetic injectables are used to address multiple signs of aging.   The fillers are injected into targeted areas of the face to soften wrinkles and folds, add volume, and lift the skin, to create a rejuvenated, youthful appearance.

A liquid facelift is typically done using botox along with dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Sculptra.

What Happens During A Liquid Facelift?

During a liquid facelift tiny needles are used to make a series of injections into different areas of the face.  The placement of the fillers depends on the facial anatomy and aesthetic goals of the patient.

Botox is used to smooth dynamic wrinkles such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.  These lines develop as a result of repetitive facial expressions such as laughing, squinting, and frowning.

Dermal fillers add volume and fullness to facial tissue so they are used to smooth wrinkles and fine lines, shape facial contours, and plump the lips.   Dermal fillers are made of various substances but hyaluronic acid fillers are the most popular.

A liquid facelift is done in a single session and can take anywhere from 15-60 minutes.  The procedure is virtually painless, and there is no downtime, so patients can resume normal activities right away.

How Long Does A Liquid Facelift Last?

The results of a liquid facelift can last 1-2 years depending on which products are used.
