What is the Difference Between CoolSculpting and CoolMini?

CoolSculpting by ZeltiqAesthetics is a non-surgical body contouring procedure that freezes away unwanted fat for good. If you have stubborn fat deposits that you can’t seem to get rid of despite a good diet and a regular exercise regimen, CoolSculpting can help you regain shape in these areas. More recently Zeltiq came out with a complementary handpiece known as the CoolMini, but what is the difference between CoolSculpting and CoolMini.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a body contouring device that uses Cryolipolysis technology to destroy fat cells. Cryolipolysis is a system of controlled cooling in which the fat cells are frozen to levels that disrupts them, without causing injury to the skin or surrounding tissue. The fat cells are eventually eliminated by the body naturally. Results are usually seen within 3 weeks, but the full effect can take up to 3 months.

Difference Between CoolSculpting and CoolMini

CoolSculpting was first approved by the FDA for contouring larger areas such as the thighs and stomach. But now there is the CoolMini applicator, which is an attachment for the CoolSculpting device that is specially designed to reach pockets of fat in small areas, such as under the chin. The original CoolSculpting handpiece was too large to use on these areas, but CoolMini is the perfect fit.

CoolMini is simply the CoolSculpting treatment that has been FDA approved for minimizing the appearance of fat under the chin. So if you have a double chin that you’d like to melt away, CoolMini gives you the option to do it without needles or downtime.
